Our Commitment

Pics & Plates is built to respect your privacy. We do not require accounts, and we do not collect personal information during normal use of the app. All movie night data is stored locally on your device.
 

Director’s Ear & Passive Sync

To enable the "Director's Ear" and "Latent Echo" experiences, the app requests access to your Microphone and Light Sensor.

  • No Recording: Audio is processed in real-time to create a transient frequency fingerprint. We do not record, store, or transmit your conversations.

  • Ambient Sensors: The light sensor (lux) is used only to sync your screen's glow with the movie's energy.

  • Local Only: All "Passive Sync" data is processed on-device and wiped immediately after the credits roll.
     

Photos & AI Poster Studio

When using the AI Poster Studio:

  • Photos taken or uploaded are securely passed to our external AI provider strictly to generate your custom movie poster.

  • We do not save or store your original photos. They are permanently deleted from our servers immediately after the final poster is exported to your device.

When using the Cookbook:

  • Photos of your movie night meals are stored entirely in your device's private local storage.

  • Sharing photos to socials is triggered entirely by you; we never share data automatically.
     

Payments & Billing

We securely process in-app transactions using external payment providers (such as Stripe).

  • No Payment Data Stored: We do not collect, process, or save any of your credit card details or banking information on our app or servers.

  • Secure Processing: All sensitive financial data is routed directly to and handled securely by the external payment processor.
     

Third Party Services

We use TMDB (The Movie Database) to fetch movie information. When you select a movie, we may provide deep links to:

  • Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, or Apple TV+

  • Food delivery services (Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat)

We do not share your private "Cinema Vault" memories or "Cookbook" photos with these providers.
